PM Modi Speaks With Trump; Reviews Trade, Defence, Energy and Critical Technology Cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday and reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation across trade, defence, energy, critical technologies and other areas of mutual interest. Modi described the conversation as productive and said both leaders agreed to maintain close engagement to further advance the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including ongoing efforts to promote global peace and security. The conversation comes as India and the US continue discussions on bilateral trade, with India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal currently in the US for trade-related engagements.
