PM Modi Holds Key Discussions on Water Security

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the valedictory session of the Departmental Summit on Water Security organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. The summit is focusing on strengthening coordination between the Centre and the states and promoting a Team India approach in the water sector. Discussions are also centred on ensuring the timely implementation of water infrastructure projects.

The summit is also discussing the sustainability of drinking water sources and the operation and maintenance of rural drinking water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0. Special emphasis is being placed on Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari–Catch the Rain, public participation in water conservation, and sharing the experiences, challenges and best practices of states to evolve time-bound action plans.
