Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy assured people that they need not have any apprehensions about lands included in the Prohibited of Property (POB) or Section 22A lists. He said the government would ensure justice for every legally eligible person. The minister clarified that no new lands have been added to the prohibited list by the present government and said efforts were underway to resolve legal and technical issues inherited from the previous government and provide relief to affected people.
The minister directed officials to upload all documents related to land regularisation, including government orders, proceedings, memorandums, land acquisition proceedings and layout approvals, online by August 14. He said the move would help prevent forged documents and enable Sub-Registrars to clearly distinguish genuine documents from fraudulent ones during registration. Steps are also being taken to provide Sub-Registrars access to pahani records for greater transparency. During a detailed meeting with the Collectors and District Sub-Registrars of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy districts, Ponguleti reviewed applications received through Prajavani and from Collectors, RDOs, Tahsildars and Sub-Registrars. He directed Collectors to identify genuine applications and resolve them on a priority basis while taking decisions from a public-centric perspective.
