

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said his government is committed to protecting the traditional occupations of toddy-tapping and handloom workers and will provide pensions at saturation level to all eligible beneficiaries. He made the remarks after unveiling the statue of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud on Tank Bund in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister said the government has distributed 50,000 Katamayya kits to Goud workers and is providing ₹5 lakh compensation in cases of accidental death. He also directed the Irrigation Department to take steps to plant palm and toddy trees along the banks of irrigation canals to support the traditional profession.
Revanth Reddy said the government would officially observe the birth anniversary of Panduga Sayanna on October 22. He described Sardar Sarvai Papanna as a leader who emerged from the Bahujan communities and said his legacy should continue to inspire the people of Telangana.
