

A tragic incident occurred in Amalapuram of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district during preparations for Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s birthday celebrations. Prem Kumar, a young man from Bendamurlanka who was working in Hyderabad, had returned to his hometown along with his friends to participate in the celebrations.
While a flex banner featuring Pawan Kalyan was being installed near a college in Amalapuram, Prem Kumar accidentally came into contact with an electrical wire and suffered a fatal electric shock. Police immediately reached the spot, shifted his body to a local hospital for post-mortem and registered a case. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over his family, friends and the local community. Officials have urged people to exercise extreme caution around live electrical wires while installing flexes and banners.
