The 80th Independence Day celebrations were held grandly at the Police Parade Ground in Kakinada. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan attended the event as the chief guest and unfurled the national flag, followed by the national anthem and a ceremonial salute from the police forces. His wife, Anna Konidela, also attended the celebrations. Remembering the sacrifices of freedom fighters, Pawan Kalyan called upon every citizen to contribute to nation-building and fulfil their responsibilities.
A parade of floats showcasing the state government’s development and welfare initiatives was a major attraction at the celebrations. Floats representing the Forest, Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Endowments, Irrigation, Education and Agriculture departments drew attention. Students’ science and technology displays, including a robot saluting the Deputy Chief Minister, along with police dog demonstrations and patriotic cultural performances, added to the celebrations.
