Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Pawan Kalyan has taken serious note of the destruction of a road constructed under the Palle Panduga programme between Ananthasamudram and Papakkagaripalle villages in Pullampeta mandal of Tirupati district. He directed officials to initiate strict legal action against those responsible for damaging public property. Officials informed him that around 100 metres of the road, built at a cost of ₹4.75 crore under the Palle Panduga 3.0 initiative, had allegedly been ploughed up using a tractor. Following information from villagers, a case was registered, and officials said steps were being taken to arrest the accused and produce them before a magistrate.
Pawan Kalyan stated that damaging roads built with public funds for the benefit of citizens was an unacceptable offence. He instructed officials to register cases under non-bailable sections against those responsible and ensure that others involved in the incident were also brought to justice. He further directed the authorities to invoke the Revenue Recovery Act to recover the cost of the damage from those responsible. Emphasising the need to protect public assets, he called for strict enforcement of the law against anyone who deliberately damages government infrastructure.
