Tech giant Oracle has taken a shocking decision by revoking pre Placement job offers given to several IIT and NIT students in India. This comes just a month after the company laid off around 30,000 employees worldwide as part of internal restructuring. The move has left many bright engineering students in deep distress.
Students are facing a severe crisis because most IITs follow a “one offer” policy, which prevents them from applying to other companies once they accept an offer. With placement season almost over, many students from IIT Hyderabad, Kanpur, and Kharagpur (over 50 students) have been badly affected and are now worried about their future.
An NIT student, Aditya Kumar Barwal, publicly shared his disappointment on LinkedIn. The incident has triggered widespread debate on social media about corporate uncertainty and the impact of AI on job security.
