Norway’s King Harald V passed away at the age of 89, bringing an end to a long and significant reign. He had served as the King of Norway since 1991 and was among Europe’s oldest and longest-serving monarchs. The Norwegian Royal Palace officially announced his death, following which tributes began pouring in from across the country.
During his reign, King Harald V was widely regarded as a modernising figure who helped bring the Norwegian monarchy closer to the people. His passing has cast a shadow of grief across Norway. Following his death, his son and Crown Prince Haakon is expected to take over the throne as the new King of Norway.
