APSRTC has clarified that the introduction of electric buses in the corporation will not lead to privatization and assured that employees will not face any losses. The corporation stated that the move is aimed at strengthening safe, modern, and eco-friendly public transportation services across Andhra Pradesh.
Under the Prime Minister’s e-Bus Seva Scheme, the Central Government has allocated 1,050 electric buses to Andhra Pradesh. Out of these, 750 buses will operate in 11 cities, while 300 buses will be deployed on the Tirumala-Tirupati ghat roads. APSRTC also revealed that the Centre handled the tender process and selected Pinnacle India Limited as the supplier for the State.
