The Gymkhana Club has not received relief from the Delhi High Court, which clarified that it cannot grant interim orders in the case. The court observed that there are no grounds at present to issue immediate relief. Representing the Centre, Tushar Mehta assured the court that a proper legal notice would be served before initiating any eviction process.
He further emphasized that there would be no forced eviction. The government has issued a notice to vacate the premises citing security concerns. The club, which has been located in central New Delhi since the British era and spans around 28 acres, now faces uncertainty over its future following these developments.
