

Students of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bengaluru have written a letter urging the university not to invite Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Bar Council of India (BCI) Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra to the upcoming convocation.In their letter, the students said they had taken the decision in solidarity with the students of NALSAR University of Law.
They also criticized the conduct of the BCI chairman.The students said the issue concerns the freedom to disagree with powerful institutions in the country. They emphasized that legal professionals should have the freedom to disagree with authorities without fear of repercussions for their careers.The NLSIU students praised the NALSAR students for demonstrating courage and strong ethical commitment, and expressed their unconditional solidarity with them.
