NIA Conducts Searches at Five Locations in Five States

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its probe into the Gujarat cyber-terrorism case by conducting searches at five locations across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Bihar and Delhi. The searches were carried out as part of case RC-01/2025/NIA/AMD, which relates to alleged cyberattacks on Indian government websites during the period of Operation Sindoor. The case was initially registered by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad before being taken over by the NIA.

According to the investigation, the accused allegedly used Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks against government websites, with the probe examining their wider network and possible assistance from others. NIA’s earlier investigation found evidence of cyberattacks against multiple government and critical-sector websites. During the latest searches, investigators seized digital devices and documents believed to be relevant to the case and are examining them for forensic evidence. The investigation is continuing to identify other individuals allegedly connected to the cyberattack activities.
