New Twist in Bandi Bhageerath Case

Police have formed another Special Investigation Team in connection with the Bandi Bhagirath POCSO case. The decision was taken following objectionable social media posts and alleged misinformation targeting a High Court judge. Police have already taken the main accused, Damodar, into custody, while cases have also been registered against several others linked to the issue.

The city police commissioner has issued orders constituting a Special Investigation Team under Joint Commissioner of Police Swetha to investigate the matter further. Allegations surfaced on social media claiming that the husband of the judge would be given the Bar Council Chairman post if anticipatory bail was granted to Bandi Bhagirath. Following a complaint filed by the High Court Registrar on May 16 at Charminar Police Station, the case was later transferred to the Cyber Crime division for detailed investigation.
