Delhi Police Commissioner has issued new guidelines aimed at fuel conservation and reducing unnecessary vehicle usage. Under the new rules, car pooling has been made mandatory within the police department, and officials travelling to the same office are advised to use a single vehicle. The number of vehicles in VIP convoys will also be reduced as part of the initiative.
Officials have been encouraged to conduct meetings through video conferences to minimise travel. The department also advised officers to use metro services and public transport wherever possible. Authorities warned that strict action would be taken against those violating the newly introduced fuel-saving regulations.
