

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his actions during a serious incident aboard a Flydubai flight. The aircraft was travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv when the co-pilot reportedly attacked and seriously injured Machchhar. Despite his injuries, the captain resisted and opened the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew members to enter and overpower the attacker. The aircraft subsequently made an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The flight was carrying 174 people.
Netanyahu praised Machchhar’s courage and said his actions helped prevent a potentially catastrophic incident. According to Netanyahu, the injured captain managed to resist the attacker and open the cockpit door, enabling passengers and crew to intervene. He said Machchhar’s actions helped save the lives of all 174 people on board. Netanyahu wished the Indian pilot a speedy and full recovery and described him as a “true hero.”
