NEET Row Brings Parliament to a Standstill

The NEET question paper leak issue disrupted Parliament proceedings on Monday, leading to repeated adjournments in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Opposition parties demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and insisted on an immediate discussion over the alleged paper leak, protests by the Cockroach Janata Party, and the Ayodhya donation box theft. Members staged protests with placards and slogans, preventing normal business in both Houses.

In the Lok Sabha, continuous protests forced the House to be adjourned six times before it was finally postponed for the day. Opposition MPs also alleged that some members were prevented from entering the House. Amid the disruptions, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced a bill replacing the ordinance that increases the sanctioned strength of Supreme Court judges from 34 to 38.

The Rajya Sabha also witnessed repeated disruptions, with Opposition Leader Mallikarjun Kharge raising concerns over the NEET paper leak and police action against protesting students at Jantar Mantar. Both Houses could not complete most of the scheduled business. Parliamentary Affairs Committee meetings confirmed that several important bills are planned for the session, while the Delimitation and Women's Reservation Bills are not part of this week's agenda and may be introduced later if the situation improves.
