NDA Press Meet in Tirupati on Visakhapatnam Incident

A media conference was held in Tirupati under the leadership of Union Power Minister Prahlad Joshi, where NDA leaders addressed the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant incident. BJP State President Madhav expressed deep shock over the tragedy, calling it highly unfortunate that several workers lost their lives.

Both the Central and State governments announced an ex-gratia of ₹25 lakh to the families of the deceased, while those seriously injured will receive ₹10 lakh assistance. Additionally, ₹2.5 lakh is being provided to the families under the Prime Minister’s accident insurance scheme.

Union Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy visited the accident site and collected details. An official review has been conducted by the Centre. In view of the incident, the NDA victory meeting scheduled in Tirupati has been postponed. Madhav said the “double-engine government” is ensuring rapid development in Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
