Nationwide Medical Shop Shutdown Against Online Medicine Sales

Medical shops across India will remain closed on the 20th of this month following a bandh call by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists. The protest is against the sale of medicines through online platforms.

The organisation has demanded the withdrawal of permissions granted during the Covid period for online medicine services. It alleged that fake and unsafe medicines are being supplied online and called for a complete stop to such services in the interest of public health. More than 12.40 lakh medical shops are expected to participate in the shutdown.
