National Capital Rocked by 'Chalo Parliament' March

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), a political satire movement formed just two months ago to highlight the issues of students and unemployed youth, organized a massive "Chalo Parliament" march in New Delhi on Monday. The protest demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET and other entrance exam paper leaks that affected lakhs of students. Thousands of students, parents, women, senior citizens, and youth from several states joined the march, raising slogans such as "Bharat Mata Ki Jai", "Vande Mataram", and demanding accountability.

Despite heavy security arrangements, barricades, closed Metro stations, and restrictions around Parliament, protesters continued their march through different routes. Police attempted to stop the rally using barricades, tear gas, and lathi charges, leaving several protesters injured. According to reports, 65 medico-legal cases were registered at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, while police stated that 118 security personnel were also injured during the clashes.

As the protests intensified, the Central Government invited CJP representatives for discussions. Party leaders Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka met Union Minister J.P. Nadda and submitted their demands, including the release of Sonam Wangchuk from Safdarjung Hospital, the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, and compensation of ₹1 crore to the families of students who died by suicide. The government assured that the demands would be considered, while CJP announced that its agitation would continue until concrete action is taken.
