The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has received a prestigious national award for its effective use of Aadhaar-based face authentication in the police recruitment process. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) honoured TSLPRB with the ‘Aadhaar Samvaad-2026’ National Award for successfully implementing the technology to strengthen verification during recruitment. TSLPRB Chairman V.V. Srinivasa Rao received the award at the fifth National Stakeholders’ Conference held in Kolkata on Tuesday in the presence of Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada.
The recruitment board introduced an offline Aadhaar face authentication system under the guidance of UIDAI’s Hyderabad Regional Office to prevent impersonation and enhance security in police recruitment. During the first phase of applications held from August 19 to September 16, as many as 4,23,348 applicants, or 98.7 per cent of the total, successfully completed the face authentication process using the Aadhaar app on their mobile phones. Technical assistance is being provided to the remaining 5,652 applicants in coordination with the UIDAI regional office. UIDAI appreciated the board’s use of Aadhaar technology to improve transparency and accountability in the recruitment process.
