

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has expressed his interest in the upcoming film Garividi Lakshmi, saying that its songs and teaser circulating on social media have caught his attention. In a post on X, Lokesh said he wanted to know more about the film and the story behind its title. He learned that the movie is based on the real-life story of Reddy Vijayalakshmi, popularly known as Garividi Lakshmi, who dedicated her life to the traditional Burrakatha art form. The film seeks to bring her remarkable journey and contribution to folk culture to the big screen.
Lokesh highlighted how Garividi Lakshmi enriched traditional Burrakatha by blending it with the folk traditions, rural verses and cultural expressions of North Andhra, despite not having formal education. He praised her dedication to preserving the art form and said he was looking forward to the film’s release just like other moviegoers. He also extended his advance wishes to the artistes and everyone involved in the project. His post has drawn attention to the film and the legacy of a folk artiste whose life reflects the cultural richness of Andhra Pradesh.
