Nara Lokesh Invites Emcure to Invest in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh met Emcure Pharmaceuticals President (Technical Operations) Deepak Gondaliya in Ahmedabad and invited the company to set up a biosimilars manufacturing plant at the Nakkapalli cluster. Lokesh also urged Emcure to explore opportunities for API and fermentation based bulk drug manufacturing at the Nakkapalli Bulk Drug Park.

Lokesh said the proposed investments could further strengthen Emcure’s existing microbial fermentation capabilities for biologics and create a dedicated bulk drug manufacturing hub. Gondaliya said Emcure is currently focusing on complex injectables and biosimilars and would examine the proposals put forward by the Andhra Pradesh government.
