A controversy has erupted over the naming of a proposed ghat being developed for the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu in Andhra Pradesh after Devanash, the grandson of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The ghat at Munikudali village in Seethanagaram mandal, East Godavari district, was reportedly named “Devanash Ghat,” and visuals of the signage went viral on social media, drawing strong criticism.
Responding to the issue, IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh called the move inappropriate and ordered officials to remove the name immediately. He stressed that government projects should not be associated with personal names and thanked those who brought the matter to his notice. Lokesh reiterated the importance of transparency and accountability in governance.
