Nara Lokesh Announces Good News for AP DSC Candidates

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh has announced that three more District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher recruitment exams will be conducted by 2029. Speaking at the state level Teachers’ Day celebrations in Vijayawada, he said future teacher recruitments would be carried out with the same transparency followed during last year’s Mega DSC, through which 16,000 teacher posts were filled. Lokesh also said university faculty recruitment, which had not taken place for decades, was being taken up transparently and would be completed by April next year.

Lokesh said the government is focusing on reforms across the education system, from Anganwadi centres to postgraduate education, with the aim of making Andhra Pradesh’s education system a global benchmark. He said the government had introduced the Model Primary School system, expanded the ‘One Class-One Teacher’ system from 3% to 33% of schools, brought in a teacher transfer law and updated the curriculum. He also highlighted the LEAP app, which enables teachers and employees to access services without having to visit government offices.

Lokesh said a LEAP Model School has already been developed at Nidamarru in the Mangalagiri constituency and the government plans to replicate the model in every constituency. He added that during Chandrababu Naidu’s 16 years as Chief Minister, 14 DSCs were conducted and around two lakh teachers were recruited. According to Lokesh, the coalition government conducted the Mega DSC after taking office and completed the recruitment of around 16,000 teachers despite more than 350 court petitions filed by YSRCP leaders challenging the process.
