

Veteran Bollywood actor and filmmaker Nana Patekar passed away at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Dona Paula, Goa. He was found unconscious early Thursday and was rushed to Manipal Hospital. Doctors attempted to revive him with continuous CPR for around 45 minutes, but he could not be revived and was declared dead at around 5:20 am.
Nana Patekar had attended the Samraat Club International installation ceremony in Dona Paula on October 4, which became his final public appearance. During the event, he remembered former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and spoke about life and mortality, with his remarks drawing attention after his death. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Patekar earned acclaim through films including Parinda, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan, Welcome and Natsamrat. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2013.
