Tourist activities in the Nallamala forest region have been suspended for three months to facilitate the tiger mating season, said Atmakur Forest Division Deputy Director Vignesh Appao. Following the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), the Forest Department has temporarily halted eco-tourism activities and jungle safaris from July 1 to September 30.
The restrictions apply to tourist destinations and pilgrimage sites located within the Atmakur and Markapur forest divisions, including Byrluti, Pacherla, Thummalabailu, and Ishtakameswari. Forest officials clarified that while visitor access to these locations and jungle safaris has been suspended, tourists staying in cottages at eco-tourism centres will not be affected by these restrictions.
