Nagaland Gripped by Tragedy After Spurious Liquor Incident

At least 19 people have died in Nagaland over the past two days after allegedly consuming suspected spurious liquor. Eight deaths were reported from Mokokchung district and 11 from Tuensang district. Following the incident, police launched an investigation to trace the source and supply chain of the suspected adulterated liquor.

A Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the deaths. Police conducted raids at multiple locations, arrested 19 people and seized nearly 3,000 liquor bottles. Samples of the suspected liquor have been sent to Guwahati for forensic examination to determine the cause of the deaths.
