Actor Trisha Krishnan’s presence in the front row at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s Independence Day celebrations has drawn sharp criticism from the DMK’s official mouthpiece, Murasoli. Referring to the exchange of salutes between Vijay and Trisha during the ceremony at Fort St George in Chennai, the publication questioned the propriety of such conduct at an official state event.

Trisha was seated alongside Vijay’s parents during the ceremony and was seen saluting the Chief Minister while he was participating in the official proceedings.
