

Opposition MPs staged a protest outside the Election Commission office demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. During the protest, police detained Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress general secretary KC Venugopal and several other party leaders. As police placed barricades to prevent the protesting MPs from moving forward, Rahul Gandhi climbed over the barricades and continued his protest.
The Opposition MPs raised slogans and continued their demonstration at the site. Police detained several protesting MPs and took them away in buses as they attempted to control the situation. The protest led to heightened tension in the vicinity of the Election Commission office, with Opposition MPs continuing to demand the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.
