MP Chamala Seeks Debate on Defections

Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has moved an adjournment motion before the Lok Sabha Speaker, urging Parliament to take up a discussion on the issue of defections involving Members of Parliament. He argued that the matter deserves immediate attention as it concerns the functioning of India's democratic and parliamentary system.

The Congress MP alleged that the BJP has been facilitating defections from parties such as the Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray and the Aam Aadmi Party. He further claimed that central investigative agencies were being used to pressure elected representatives into joining the BJP, and called for a detailed debate in Parliament on the allegations.
