The sudden return of iBOMMA has sparked fresh discussions in film circles and on social media. The website, which was believed to have shut down after legal action and arrests in the past, has reportedly become active again with newly released movies appearing online within hours of theatrical release. The development has once again raised serious concerns over online piracy in the film industry.
Earlier, Imandi Ravi was arrested in connection with piracy activities linked to the website, following which operations had reportedly stopped completely. The platform had even announced the closure of its activities. However, Ravi is currently out on bail, and the sudden reappearance of the website has now triggered speculation about who is operating it. Authorities are yet to clarify whether old operators are involved or if new people are running the platform from behind the scenes.
