Gangster Himanshu Bhau, who is wanted in India in connection with several murder, kidnapping and extortion cases, has been arrested in the United States. Reports say he and another fugitive, Neeraj Faridpuria, were detained in Las Vegas on October 22 following inputs from the Haryana Special Task Force, with assistance from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Bhau was on the most-wanted lists of Delhi and Haryana Police and is known as a rival of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Originally from Rohtak district in Haryana, Bhau is suspected of operating a criminal network from abroad. Reports have linked his activities to Portugal, while Indian investigators have named him in cases involving murder, attempted murder, intimidation and extortion. Interpol issued a Red Notice against him in August 2023. Haryana authorities are reportedly coordinating with US officials and central agencies to bring him back to India. Any transfer will depend on the applicable legal procedures.
