

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved seven mega projects worth ₹2,19,353 crore aimed at strengthening India's industrial and infrastructure sectors. The landmark decisions are expected to accelerate economic growth, boost manufacturing, and enhance the country's global competitiveness across key strategic sectors.
The approved projects include initiatives to transform India into a global semiconductor manufacturing hub, expand mobile phone production, achieve self-reliance in the fertiliser sector, and undertake major infrastructure development in Varanasi. Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the projects reflect the government's commitment to building a stronger industrial ecosystem and world-class infrastructure.
