

Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar held a review meeting at MCRHRD in Hyderabad to assess preparations for the Ganesh festivities beginning on September 14. Officials from various departments, including the three municipal corporations, district administration, police, revenue and other departments, along with representatives of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti, participated in the meeting. The minister directed officials to ensure comprehensive arrangements for sanitation, security, traffic management, Ganesh pandals and cultural programmes. He said free electricity is being provided to Ganesh pandals across the state.
The minister appealed to organisers to promote clay idols and adopt environmentally friendly practices. He suggested distributing saplings to devotees and using handloom shawls during the celebrations while taking steps to reduce plastic usage. He also urged the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti to conduct prayers seeking good rainfall and the removal of El Niño conditions. Stressing respect for court directions, he called for peaceful celebrations with public participation and successful collective immersion programmes. He said the entire state Cabinet would participate in the festivities.
