Telangana Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy held a special meeting with NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav in Hyderabad to discuss several important National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) projects in the state. Key discussions focused on the Regional Ring Road project and the expansion of the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway (NH-65). The minister urged officials to expedite the eight-lane expansion works on the highway, which has frequently been referred to as a “death road” due to recurring accidents.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also informed the NHAI Chairman that the Telangana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has proposed a 7.1-kilometre double-decker elevated corridor from LB Nagar to Hayathnagar on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada route, similar to the Nagpur model. NHAI officials reportedly informed the minister that the tender process for the Regional Ring Road and highway expansion projects has been completed and arrangements are being made to begin works soon. Senior Roads & Buildings Department officials also attended the meeting.
