Mineral Wealth to Drive Employment and Development: Bhatti Vikramarka

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has proposed a joint venture between Singareni and Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector. During a meeting with Karnataka Energy Minister K.J. George in Bengaluru, the two leaders discussed energy sector development, coal supply and technology exchange between the states. Bhatti suggested that KPCL and Singareni work together on coal mining projects in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, to which George responded positively. George also sought a continuous supply of Telangana coal for Karnataka's thermal power plants to meet the state's growing electricity demand.

Bhatti later launched a gold and copper mineral exploration programme under Singareni at Lingadahalli village in Devadurga taluk of Raichur district, Karnataka. He said the discovery of substantial gold and copper reserves could create employment opportunities for youth and accelerate regional development. Bhatti noted that Singareni had secured exploration rights for the Devadurga block through central government tenders. He also announced plans to establish a Singareni office and a helipad in the area and inspected mineral samples collected during the exploration process.
