Mettapalli’s Bathukamma Song Celebrating Gulf Migrants Launched in Dubai

A special Bathukamma song titled “Edarilo Thangedu Vaname Moliseno” was launched at a grand event in Dubai, bringing the culture and traditions of Telangana to the Gulf. Produced by Kota Kumar (KK), chairman of Akshara Gold & Diamonds Jewellery Group, the song features lyrics by Telangana folk poet and singer Mettapalli Surender, vocals by popular singer Mangli and background music composed by Madeen SK. The song captures the emotions of Telangana migrants working in Gulf countries and their longing to celebrate Bathukamma with their families in their native villages. It seeks to reconnect people living far from home with their cultural roots and memories of their homeland.

The song also conveys a message of communal harmony by highlighting the shared warmth of different traditions and the spirit of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood. Symbolically linking Golconda Fort with Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the event celebrated Telangana’s cultural identity and its connection with people living abroad. Traditional Dappu and Oggu Dolu performances added vibrancy to the celebrations, which were attended by migrant workers and their families from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Produced through Mettapalli Studios, the song was dedicated to the women of Telangana in the state and across Gulf countries. The event was organised by Suthari Satyam and Mallesh Goud of Spark Media.
