Mega Centralised Kitchen in Suryapet..

A large centralised kitchen capable of preparing nutritious meals for nearly 60,000 students every day is being developed at Syedmujavarpet in Munagala mandal of Suryapet district. The facility is being planned for operation within 100 days. Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has contributed Rs 9.6 crore under its corporate social responsibility programme, while the project is being implemented with the support of the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation. The kitchen will serve around 1,029 government schools and junior colleges, integrating cooking, quality control, packing and distribution into a centralised system.

Irrigation, Food and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy is monitoring the project, while Suryapet District Collector Tejas Nandlal Pawar said efforts were under way to make the facility operational within 100 days. The kitchen will also supply meals to 7,972 students in 131 government educational institutions across Nakrekal, Sali Gouraram, Kethepally and Vemulapally mandals in Nalgonda district. The initiative aims to address malnutrition and improve students’ health, attendance and concentration. Millet-based dishes are also proposed as part of the menu. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy thanked SCCL for its Rs 9.6 crore contribution towards the project.
