Medical shops across the country will remain closed on May 20 as part of a nationwide bandh. The All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) announced that more than 12.40 lakh chemists and pharmaceutical distributors are expected to participate in the shutdown.
The organisation has advised people to purchase essential medicines in advance to avoid inconvenience during the bandh. The protest is expected to impact medical retail services across several states, while emergency healthcare services may continue based on local arrangements.
