Central Board of Secondary Education announced the Class 12 board examination results on Wednesday, with over 85 percent of students successfully clearing the exams this year. However, the overall pass percentage recorded a decline of more than three percent compared to last year. Despite the slight drop in results, girl students once again outperformed boys in the national examinations, continuing the trend seen in previous years.
According to official data, the pass percentage among girls stood at 88.86 percent, while boys recorded 82.13 percent. A total of 94,028 students, accounting for 5.32 percent, secured 90 percent or above marks, while 17,113 students scored 95 percent and above. The number of students placed in the compartment category also increased significantly this year. While 1,29,095 students were placed under compartment status in 2025, the figure rose to 1,63,800 this year. Students who fail in one or two subjects in the board examinations are classified under the compartment category.
