Massive 7.7-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Indonesia, Tsunami Warning Issued

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.7 struck Indonesia, triggering concern across the affected region. The epicentre was located at a depth of around 10 kilometres near Flores. The strong tremor was followed by several additional earthquakes, raising concerns about further seismic activity.

Within a span of about 90 minutes, five earthquakes were recorded with magnitudes of 5.0, 5.1, 6.1, 5.6 and 5.9. In view of the strong and repeated tremors, authorities issued tsunami warnings for areas in East Nusa Tenggara and urged people in vulnerable locations to remain alert.
