US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Delhi on a four-day official visit to India, marking his first trip since taking office. During his visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, Rubio earlier reached Kolkata and visited the Missionaries of Charity founded by Mother Teresa. He later met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the PM’s office in “Seva Teerth” in New Delhi. He is also scheduled to hold detailed discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and attend the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Delhi.
Meanwhile, a social media post by the Iran Consulate in Mumbai stirred diplomatic attention after it appeared to take a swipe at the US leadership, suggesting lessons on civility from Indians. The post came amid ongoing geopolitical discussions involving Iran and the United States. Rubio’s visit highlights key engagements focused on defence, trade, and strategic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
