Manmohan Singh Served the Nation with Dedication

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge remembered former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on his birth anniversary. Modi said Singh spent many years in public life and served the nation with dedication. Kharge recalled Singh’s contribution as a statesman associated with India’s historic economic reforms and described humility, dignity and intellectual ability as defining aspects of his personality.

At the AICC office on Akbar Road in New Delhi, Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi paid floral tributes to Manmohan Singh. Rahul Gandhi later attended a prayer ceremony organised by Singh’s family at his residence. Rahul described the former Prime Minister as a leader who, through his vision, gave a new direction to India’s economy and social justice.
