Malayalam Singer Dies in Dubai

Popular Malayalam singer Nisar Wayanad passed away suddenly at a hospital in Dubai, shocking the Malayalam community in the UAE and his fans. He had travelled to Dubai for a music programme last month and was later undergoing treatment after developing a fever. He was scheduled to perform at events in Dubai and Saudi Arabia and had also signed agreements to sing in Malayalam films. Known for his voice resembling that of Bollywood singer Udit Narayan, Nisar had built a strong following through cultural and music programmes in the UAE.

Nisar’s condition reportedly worsened on Saturday afternoon, after which he was admitted to a Dubai hospital. Doctors confirmed that he died following organ failure caused by septicaemia and worsening acidosis. More than 300 fans and friends gathered to pay their final respects after the news of his death emerged. His funeral prayers were completed in the early hours of Sunday, and arrangements were made to take his body to his native place in Wayanad, Kerala. Nisar’s original name was Nissar Aroth Ibrahim. He is survived by his wife, Shahana Nisar, and two daughters, Simbrina and Ambreena.
