Corruption allegations have surfaced in the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s Nizampet Circle, where an engineer is accused of orchestrating a large-scale scam involving tenders, contracts, and bill payments. According to reports, the official allegedly created a construction agency in his father’s name and routed payments through it, while also executing works via benami firms. Over ₹2.96 crore in bills were reportedly cleared under his family-owned entity, along with additional works worth nearly ₹10 crore. The municipal authorities have initiated an inquiry into the matter.
Further investigations suggest that the engineer, identified as Dheeraj Reddy, misused multiple civic works including sanitation, road maintenance, and infrastructure projects for financial gain. A video-recorded conversation has also surfaced involving discussions on pending payments and contractor disputes, indicating deeper irregularities. Following complaints from contractors and stakeholders, officials have begun a detailed probe into the alleged scam.
