BJP Legislature Party leader in the Telangana Assembly and Nirmal MLA Aleti Maheshwar Reddy has requested Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to grant early approval for the proposed Patancheru (Nagalapalli)–Adilabad railway line. In a letter addressed to the minister, Maheshwar Reddy stated that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the 136.503-kilometre rail corridor was submitted to the Railway Board by South Central Railway, and that the final location survey has already been completed. He urged the Centre to include the project in the Railway Pink Book and expedite its implementation.
Maheshwar Reddy said the proposed railway line would significantly improve connectivity across Nirmal, Armur, and Adilabad while benefiting students, traders, farmers, and industries. He noted that the project would facilitate easier travel to Hyderabad, Nanded, and Karimnagar, create new markets for the world-famous Nirmal handicrafts, and strengthen transport links for agricultural hubs such as Armur and Ankapur. He added that the corridor would also provide a shorter freight route connecting western India with the northeastern region, boosting economic and industrial development in North Telangana.
