TPCC president and MLC Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud has completed two years at the helm of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, with his tenure focusing on strengthening the party organisation, promoting social justice and improving coordination between the government and the party. Against a challenging political backdrop, he has emphasised grassroots mobilisation and worked towards making the Congress cadre more active from the village level to the mandal and district levels.
The TPCC has given prominence to issues such as the BC caste census and social justice, while efforts were made to ensure greater social balance in the appointment of DCC presidents. As part of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, a major training camp for DCC presidents from the erstwhile Telugu states was organised in Vikarabad, attended by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal. Rahul Gandhi’s appreciation of Mahesh Kumar Goud’s performance became a notable moment. His direct participation in district executive meetings, outreach programmes, ministers’ interactions and padayatras has further strengthened the link between the state and grassroots leadership. The Jubilee Hills bypoll victory, Nizamabad municipal election results and gains in local bodies have also boosted confidence among Congress workers, with consolidating these gains and strengthening the grassroots cadre emerging as key priorities ahead.
