A rare collection of 688 handwritten letters and historical writings by Mahatma Gandhi has fetched a record price of ₹16.20 crore at a Saffronart auction. The collection offers a valuable glimpse into Gandhi’s thoughts and correspondence during an important period in India’s history.

The letters were written by Gandhi to his close associate and freedom fighter Anand T. Hingorani. They cover several themes, including truth, non-violence and service. The landmark sale has reportedly created a world record for an auction involving Indian historical documents.
