Maharashtra Cracks Down on Food Safety Violations, Seizes Food Items

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials in Maharashtra conducted surprise raids in Thane and Pune districts over alleged violations of food safety regulations. During the inspections, officials seized food products worth approximately ₹48.09 lakh, including items that had expired or were damaged. The action was aimed at checking the sale of unsafe food products.

Reports stated that cases were registered against 10 people in connection with the alleged illegal sale of food items, with staff associated with Reliance, Blinkit and Zomato reportedly among those facing action. The case highlights concerns over food safety compliance and the need for stricter checks to ensure that consumers receive safe and quality food products.
